A vault, not a tracker
Kinora is not an asset manager, a net worth tracker, an investment tool or a wealth dashboard. It does not tell you what to invest in and it never connects to your bank.
KinoraOur story
This did not start as an app. It started with a family I knew.
In the second wave of COVID, a friend of mine lost her husband.
He had handled everything at home. The bank accounts, the insurance, the loan papers, the envelope in the cupboard that nobody else had a reason to open. He was gone within a few days.
His wife and their child were left with questions that nobody in the house could answer. Which bank. Which policy. Whether there was a nominee. Where the papers were kept.
She was not looking for money. She was looking for a piece of paper.
In the weeks after someone dies, the family does not get to sit with it. There are calls to make and offices to visit. You sit in a bank branch with a death certificate in a plastic folder and explain who you are, again, and you are asked to prove things nobody ever told you.
Every drawer you open reminds you that he is gone. You open the next one anyway, because the policy number is somewhere in the house and nothing moves until you find it.
That is what stayed with me.
He was not careless. He had the insurance. He had the savings. He had thought about his family. That is why those things existed at all.
He just never wrote down where any of it was. Most of us don’t. It never feels urgent until it is the only thing that matters.
I was not a developer. I learned as I went, on nights and weekends, and it took far longer than I expected. I started over more than once.
I kept at it because most of what that family went through was avoidable. Not the loss, but the months of searching that came after it.
Kinora is not a way to track your wealth. It will not make you richer and it is not trying to.
It is a place to write down the ordinary things. Which bank. Which policy. Whose name is on the nominee line. Where the papers are. Who to call.
These are the things you keep in your head and assume you will pass on one day.
Twenty minutes now can save your family months later.
I hope this sits on your phone for forty years and never gets opened in a hurry.
But if that day does come, your family should not have to go through your cupboards to work out what you had. They should be able to open one place and find it written down.
For a family I knew, and for the man who did everything right except write it down.
Founder, Kinora
The problem
Five failures that repeat in almost every household. Kinora was built around this list.
Bank accounts, FDs, insurance policies, property papers and loans live across files, phones, emails, apps, cupboards and memory.
A spouse does not know all the bank accounts. Children do not know the insurance details. Parents do not know the property information.
Insurance papers, FD receipts, property documents and PAN copies go missing exactly when they are needed most.
Policies and investments stay unclaimed because no one in the family knew they existed in the first place.
The CA, the lawyer, the financial advisor, the employer, the insurance agent. Rarely written down in one place.
Who it is for
Kinora was built for parents aged roughly 35 to 55 who own assets, hold insurance, carry a home loan, and have people depending on them. If one question sits at the back of your mind, that if something happens to you your family will not know where anything is, this was built for you.

How it is different
Kinora is not an asset manager, a net-worth tracker, or an investment tool. Those choices are the product.
Kinora is not an asset manager, a net worth tracker, an investment tool or a wealth dashboard. It does not tell you what to invest in and it never connects to your bank.
Most finance apps open on a number going up or down. Kinora opens on a different question. Can your family actually find everything? That is what the home screen scores.
No invitations, no accounts for your spouse, no syncing. The Emergency Packet is an ordinary PDF that opens on any phone or computer.
We publish what the app does not protect you from, both in the app and on this site. An app that asks to hold your family’s financial map should tell you where it is weak.
Nominee lines, FDs, PAN, CA and lawyer contacts, and amounts in lakhs and crores. The whole app is available in English and हिन्दी.
There is no advertising and no analytics. We never receive your information, so it cannot become the product.
Reasons to trust it
Each of these is a property of how the app is built, and each is verifiable in the app itself.
Kinora has no backend. Your information never leaves the phone, so there is no database of vaults for anyone to attack, including us.
You never give us a name, email or phone number. There is nothing to log in to and nothing to close.
The app collects no usage data and sends no crash reports. There is no business model that depends on your information.
Most apps let Android copy their data to your Google account by default. Kinora turns that off, so “nothing leaves your phone” means what it says.
The vault is encrypted, but the key lives on your phone, so it cannot protect a device someone else is holding unlocked. The Emergency Packet is not password protected. Both are stated in the app, in the policy, and on this site.
Back up your data to an encrypted file you keep, or delete everything from Settings. Uninstalling removes it all.
You do not have to do all of it today. Add one asset. Write down one person to call. That is already more than most families have.
