Terms & Conditions

Last updated: 14 July 2026Applies to: Kinora for AndroidGoverned by the laws of India

These terms cover what Kinora is, what it is not, what you agree to when you use it, and where our responsibility ends. Like the app itself, they are written to be read once and understood.

1. Introduction

By installing and using Kinora, you agree to what is written here. It is written in plain language so you can read it once and understand it.

Kinora is a private app for keeping track of where your assets, documents, important contacts, and nominee details are, so your family can find that information if they ever need to without you. It runs on your phone. There are no accounts, no login, and no servers.

2. What Kinora is not

Kinora is not a financial, legal, or tax advisor. It does not tell you what to invest in, draft your will, or file your taxes. It does not move or hold money, and it does not connect to your bank.

Recording a nominee’s name in the app does not change the nominee on your actual account or policy. You still have to do that with the bank or the insurer.

Every number in the app is a number you typed in. The app cannot check it against anything. If a balance here is wrong, it is because the entry is out of date.

Decisions about your money, your insurance, and your property are yours. Check with the institution or an advisor before acting on anything you see here.

3. Your responsibilities

Do not store passwords, OTPs, or ATM PINs in this app. This is the most important line on the page. Your vault is encrypted on your phone, but a live credential like a password or OTP should never be written down anywhere (see the Privacy Policy). Write down where things are kept, not the things themselves.

Keep the information current. The app shows your family what you last told it. An Emergency Packet built on three-year-old entries will send them to an account that closed two years ago.

Take a backup, and keep your recovery code. We never see your backup and hold no copy of your information, so if the phone is lost and there is no backup, the information is gone. The recovery code is what lets you open a backup on a new phone. Write it down, because we cannot give you a new one.

Remember your PIN. Private assets are protected by a PIN stored in a scrambled form. If you forget it, nobody can open those assets again, including us.

Treat the Emergency Packet like a photocopy of your passport. It holds sensitive information and is not password protected. Share it only with people you trust.

4. Acceptable use

Use Kinora to organise your own household’s information. You agree not to:

  • Use it for reselling, scraping, or commercial data collection
  • Record another person’s financial information without their knowledge or consent
  • Use it for any unlawful purpose, or to store material you have no right to hold
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or tamper with the app, or redistribute a modified version of it

5. Accounts and access

There is no account. Kinora has no sign-up, no login, and no password held by us. Access to your vault is controlled entirely by your device: your phone’s own lock, plus the PIN or fingerprint lock you set inside the app, and the separate PIN for private assets.

Because of that, you are responsible for who can get into your unlocked phone. Anyone with access to it, and to your app lock, can see your vault. We cannot reset a PIN, recover a forgotten recovery code, or restore a vault, because we hold none of them.

6. Age requirement

Kinora is meant for adults organising a household’s financial information. When you set up your profile, the app asks you to confirm you are at least 16.

7. Intellectual property

Your content stays yours. Everything you enter into Kinora belongs to you. We never receive it, so we claim no licence or rights over it whatsoever.

The app stays ours. The Kinora name, logo, design, and the software itself are owned by BeliefSoft and protected by applicable intellectual property law. Installing the app gives you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use it. It does not transfer ownership of anything.

8. Service availability

Kinora runs entirely on your device and works without an internet connection, so there is no service for us to take down and no outage that can lock you out of your own vault.

What we cannot promise is that the app will be free of bugs, that it will run on every phone, that it will preserve every piece of data through every future update, or that what it shows will match your bank’s records It reflects only what you entered.

We may release updates that change, add, or remove features. We may also stop distributing the app. Because everything is stored locally, a copy you have already installed continues to work, and your backup files remain yours.

9. Limitation of liability

The app is provided as it is. You are responsible for the accuracy of what you enter, and for taking a backup.

As far as the law allows, we are not responsible for:

  • Information lost because a phone was lost, broken, wiped, or replaced, because the app was uninstalled, because a PIN or recovery code was forgotten, or because no backup was taken
  • Financial, legal, or tax decisions made on the basis of what is stored in the app
  • What happens after you share an Emergency Packet, including it being passed on to someone else
  • Anything that happens to your information inside another service you send it through, such as a messaging app, an email provider, or cloud storage
  • Someone getting into your vault because they had access to your unlocked phone

If you live somewhere that does not allow some of these limits, they apply as far as the law there permits.

10. Termination

You can stop using Kinora whenever you like. Settings › Delete all my data wipes your vault from the phone, and uninstalling the app removes it too. There is no account to close and we hold nothing of yours, so there is nothing further for you to do and nothing for us to delete.

Any backup files you saved elsewhere are yours. It is up to you whether to keep or delete them.

Because the app requires no account and no server, we have no ability to suspend or terminate your access to a copy you have installed. This licence ends if you stop using the app or breach these terms.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the app changes. Anything that affects how your information is handled will be reflected here before it reaches you, and the date at the top will be updated. This document is kept alongside the app’s source code, so its history is on record. Continuing to use the app after an update means you accept the revised terms.

12. Governing law

These terms are interpreted under the laws of India, where the team is based.

13. Contact information
